Our sysadmins, averaging 10+ years experience apiece, deploy a self-hosted Git platform — Forgejo, Gitea, or GitLab CE, chosen to match your team's workflow and existing tooling — and hand you an admin account you can use to create additional users and repositories from that point on. Setup covers the platform install, initial configuration, CI runner registration where the platform supports it, and single sign-on if you already run an identity provider we can hook into. A backup strategy goes in before go-live, since a self-hosted Git server holding your only copy of source history is not somewhere to improvise. Beyond the seat-cost savings this brings over GitHub or GitLab.com pricing at scale, self-hosting also matters for EU and regulated customers who need their code and data to stay on infrastructure they control. This engagement is the install and configuration; migrating a substantial existing repository history across is scoped and quoted separately once we know how many repos are involved and how large they are. Hosting can be added as a follow-on if you'd rather not run the server yourself.

Do you migrate our existing repositories?: Not as part of this engagement. Migrating existing repo history is scoped and quoted per repo once we know how many are involved and their size — effort scales directly with that, so it isn't something we can bundle at a fixed price upfront.
Which platform do you recommend?: It depends on your team: Forgejo and Gitea are lightweight and fast to run; GitLab CE brings a heavier built-in CI/CD and project-management surface if you want it in one place. We match the choice to what you actually need rather than defaulting to the biggest option.
Is hosting included?: No — this is the install and configuration on infrastructure you provide. Hosting the server for you is available as a separate follow-on if you'd rather not run it yourself.
