Linux Onboarding & Support

The Linux Help Desk

An ongoing monthly Linux help desk retainer, staffed by Linux-fluent technicians, for customers running Linux as their daily-driver desktop OS.

This runs the same screen-share, no-remote-control delivery model as The Walk-Through Support, but staffed by technicians with genuine Linux depth — package management (apt, dnf, flatpak, snap), config-file edits via terminal, and service troubleshooting (systemd, networking, audio, printing) that generalist support cannot reach. Scope covers anything a competent Linux technician can guide a user through remotely, plus the everyday scenarios from the Walk-Through library. What escalates out: hardware-level issues needing physical access, systems we don't own or operate, and bespoke customer applications we haven't been trained on. The retainer scales with team size — the quoted hours reflect a mid-size team's typical monthly volume, and larger or smaller teams are sized up or down from there. This is the natural ongoing-support pairing for anyone who has bought a Custom Linux ISO, run a Linux Pilot Program, or onboarded users through Linux Endpoint Onboarding — it is the retainer that catches what comes up after the migration is done.

FAQ

How does delivery work for a monthly retainer?
This isn't a one-off build delivered on a fixed clock — it's a recurring monthly service. The quoted hours cover a typical month of help-desk volume for a mid-size team; support requests are actioned the same business day, with genuine incidents handled as they come in.
How does this differ from The Walk-Through Support?
Same delivery model — live, screen-share, no remote control — but this is staffed specifically for Linux technical depth: package management and config-level work that a generalist support team isn't equipped to do.
What's not covered?
Hardware needing physical access (a failed drive, a broken screen), systems outside what we operate, and your bespoke internal applications unless we've been separately trained on them.
Can the retainer size change as our team grows?
Yes — this is billed monthly against team size, not a fixed-term contract, so the hours scale up or down as your headcount changes.
